Hydrogels for local delivery to Glioblastoma

We are in the process of translating our research on dynamic hyaluronic acid  hydrogels towards the clinic. The developmental and scale up components of our translation efforts are complete, IP is secured, and we are now moving towards final studies required to obtain MHRA approval for a first in human phase I safety trial.

The ability to detect a range of biomarkers in urine is an exciting oppertunity for the non-invasive and convenient monitoring various health conditions, from kidney diseases to cancer. Using SERS, long term monitoring becomes affordable and rapid, facilitating remote moitoring. Early detection of key biomarkers that serve as crucial indicators underlying diseases or physiological changes will  revolutionise early disease diagnosis and patient care.

Electron mediators for energy storage and conversion

​A diverse library of electron/energy mediators has been developed within the Scherman group over the past 15 years. These molecules can be chemically tuned to have a range of unique electronic properties, holding a significant potential for a variety of applications related to energy storage and conversion. Scale-up and commercialisation of these materials in energy storage technologies is underway.
